Throughout my almost 40 years of existence in my hometown, never have I experienced severe flooding. Until now. What also stressed me out is that I have my family to look out for, and the need to maintain calm. Which I sometimes failed.
Last week we were hit by Typhoon Kalmaegi. Hours after we were hit by strong winds and heavy rains, power lines, internet, mobile data and water were all shut off. As of today, there is still intermittent running water and my hometown is still in the process of recovery.
These are the flooding just outside, and we are just extremely lucky that the waters did not breached our walls.

I’m thankful that my family is safe. And, our home has been spared.
